SRI RADHAKRISHNA SWAMIJI - The Saint of Poyyamani

Blessed with interactions with Goddess Kamatchi in his home and embracing the Shankara idol in the adjacent temple, Swamiji’s spiritual journey commenced at a tender age. In a transformative encounter, Swamiji met Shri Narasimha Swamiji, an ardent disciple of Shirdi Sai Baba. This meeting marked a turning point as Swamiji devoted his life to his guru and the teachings of Shirdi Saibaba. Following his contribution to building a temple in Mylapore, Chennai, under his guru’s guidance, he was entrusted with spreading Sai Prachar in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Establishing the Sai Spiritual Centre, a trust dedicated to promoting Sai Prachar and engaging in charitable endeavours, Swamiji introduced the concept of Bhakti and love as a means to lead a purposeful and fulfilling life. Swamiji’s commitment to the spiritual advancement of humanity is encapsulated in his universal prayer, emphasizing joy for life in all beings. After his samadhi, his followers manage the trust he established in Bangalore.

Though Swamiji rarely spoke about his hometown, his followers decided to preserve the house of his birth, creating a beautiful Sai Baba temple behind it while maintaining his original home, generously donated to the trust by Swamiji’s nephew.

Noteworthy among Swamiji’s devoted followers was the esteemed journalist Rangaswami Parthasarathy, who, upon Swamiji’s divine wish, authored two exceptional books: “God Who Walked on Earth” (a biography of Shirdi Saibaba) and “Apostle of Love” (a biography of Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji). The Parthasarathy family, guided by Swamiji’s teachings, has steadfastly followed his principles for over six decades.

SRI RADHAKRISHNA SWAMIJI TRUST

Continuing his legacy, T. Krishnakumar and his wife Sujatha, along with family members, initiated the Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji Trust. This trust has engaged in various social projects and supported the Sai spiritual trust in Poyyamani for the construction and upkeep of the temple.

The Radhakrishna Swamiji Trust has extended its support to the government middle school in Poyyamani, aiding in infrastructure development and motivating teachers and students. Additionally, the trust has assisted students in need from various parts of Tamil Nadu and empowered villagers to kickstart commercial activities for enhanced earnings.

Looking ahead, the trust envisions a software coaching centre, a small primary care hospital, a community centre, and a secondary school in the village, fostering self-sufficiency.

TAMIL AARTIS

To foster a deeper connection with the villagers and Sai Baba devotees in Tamil Nadu, the trust collaborated with Kalaimamani Veeramani Raju, Abhishek Raju, and their team to translate the Marathi Aarti into Tamil. This version was skillfully executed by them in 2023.
